A different measurement entirely
Every other probe in this range measures moisture in aggregate. SONO WZ measures water content and electrical conductivity in fresh ready-mix concrete — the finished product, not an ingredient.
It is a portable probe with integrated TDR electronics and a stainless steel head with a rectangular special ceramic window, paired with the SONO DIS mobile display and supplied as a case set with a 12 V / 2 A power supply.
Fast enough to be a decision
The specification that matters is timing: the measured value is available before the truck mixer has fully unloaded. That is what separates this from a laboratory result.
A number that arrives while the truck is still on site is something you can act on — accept, adjust within specification, or reject. The same number three days later is a record of a decision somebody already made without it.
The measurement needs no laboratory equipment and no sample preparation. A bucket of concrete and the probe is the whole procedure, and it works on all standard concretes.
Why conductivity is on the display
The probe reports electrical conductivity alongside water content, and it is easy to ignore that second figure. It is worth watching.
Conductivity responds to the ionic content of the mix. A conductivity value that has shifted when it should not have is a signal that something in the recipe has changed — admixture dosing, cement source, a contaminated aggregate — even when the water figure looks acceptable. It will not tell you what changed, but it tells you to go and look.
